Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele Float Pool position requiring night shifts and an AZ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care setting on a MedSurg/Tele Float Pool
• Float between PCU, two Med/Tele units, ER, L&D, Behavioral Health, and ICU (for MS overflow only)
• 12-hour night shifts with a 36-hour work week
• Cares for adult and pediatric medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:4 peds, depending on acuity
• Allscripts Sunrise EMR system is used
• Support staff includes tele techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapist, and pharmacy coverage are available 24/7
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• No IV team is present on site
• Any color scrubs may be worn, but scrubs are not provided
• COVID-19 vaccination is preferred; religious exemptions will be considered

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Experience with Allscripts Sunrise EMR preferred
