Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Care Float position in California requiring a CA RN license and prior travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Acute Care Float Pool within a hospital setting
• Required to float to telemetry units and ICU based on census and need
• Care for patients in critical care, intensive care, and telemetry units
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• On-call as needed depending on census
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Holds shift accountability for providing care to ICU and telemetry patients using the nursing process
• Demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in patient care delivery
• Provides direction and supervision to assigned personnel
• Modules and e-learning are completed during orientation; module hours vary by specialty
• Only one holiday request off (RTO) will be approved per contract
• Locals are accepted at a lower pay rate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, all must be AHA and in hand
• Minimum of 3 years RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Experience caring for critical care and telemetry patients
• Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and PIRRT equipment
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of signing
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility
• Return staff must have been gone for at least 1 year to be eligible
