Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Telemetry ICU position requiring a SC or compact license, telemetry competency, and Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the stepdown ICU unit of an acute care hospital
  • Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week (6:45 pm – 7:15 am)
  • Patient ratio is 1:4
  • Float within scope to similar units as needed
  • Patient population includes stepdown and cardiac telemetry cases
  • Epic EMR is used and previous Epic experience is required
  • Expected to work every other weekend
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Provide care for stepdown and cardiac telemetry patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Royal blue scrubs required
  • First-time travelers considered for this assignment
  • All request for time off must be submitted with application and approval depends on facility needs
  • Returning employees must have at least a 1-year break in service from the health system
  • Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
  • All staff may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
  • Parking is provided at no cost

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or compact RN license required prior to start
  • Minimum 1 year of stepdown or ICU RN experience required; 2 years preferred
  • Current certifications required: BLS and NIHSS (AHA only); ACLS and CPI preferred
  • Telemetry competency and cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Experience working in a community hospital setting is preferred
  • Epic documentation experience required
  • Must provide driver’s license for radius rule (60 miles)
  • Candidates must not have been employed (including PRN) with the health system within the past year
