Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of recent inpatient experience and BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Responsibilities

• Work setting is an inpatient physical therapy department
• Patient population includes orthopedic (same day joints and ortho trauma), neuro, medical, ICU, cardiac, renal, oncology, trauma, and stroke cases
• Therapists typically start the day with 10 evaluations, with additional treatments as needed
• Day shift schedule from 08:30 to 17:00
• Responsible for planning and delivering individualized care plans aimed at both short and long term rehabilitation goals
• Expected to lead and supervise a treatment team, including regular meetings with PTAs
• Must maintain professional conduct and ensure patient confidentiality at all times
• Participation in educational sessions, meetings, and department program development is expected
• Work environment requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized treatment area
• Performs evidence-based care and uses research to support therapeutic interventions

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient physical therapy experience required
• Valid SC LLR PT license required if applicable
• Active AHA BLS certification is required
• Ability to perform and interpret specialized evaluation procedures
• Must adhere to APTA standards of care for documentation
