Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology night shift position requiring a current MT or compact license and at least one year of oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Responsible for adult oncology patients requiring medical-surgical care
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system
• May be required to float to other departments depending on business needs
• Potential on-call requirements during regularly scheduled shifts
• Practice independent and delegated nursing functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing standards
• Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care and treatment plans for oncology patients
• Provide patient education, health counseling, and therapy as appropriate
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supervise support staff as needed
• Documentation must meet hospital and regulatory standards
• Must adhere to hospital mission, vision, and service behavior standards

Requirements

• Active MT or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ASN required; BSN preferred)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required
• At least 1 year of recent experience in oncology or the specialty considered
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
