Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least one year of cardiac cath lab or radiologic technologist experience and required ARRT and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care cardiac catheterization lab with two suites
• Average of 5-10 diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases per day, including left and right heart caths, PCI, IABP, and temporary pacemakers
• Collaborate with physicians and cardiac team members in a high-acuity environment
• Uses Siemens software and equipment for procedures
• Epic is used for charting and documentation
• 4x10 hour shifts per week, rotating day and evening coverage, with scheduling based on case load
• Mandatory call requirement: one full week of call during every four-week schedule, plus possible weekend and holiday call on a rotating basis
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• No floating required unless additional hours are desired and candidate is qualified
• Technologists are responsible for scrubbing and assisting the physician with cardiac catheterization procedures
• General hospital orientation is provided, plus one week or up to 36 hours of department-specific computer and equipment training
• On-call duties are required and include week-long and weekend shifts
• Surgical attire is provided for all procedures
• Team includes director, coordinator, and charge nurse for support
• No local travelers accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Cumulative assignment limit of one year within the health system; must take a two-year break after one year
• Former employees must be gone from the health system for two years before returning as an agency traveler
• Holiday call coverage is assigned rotationally

Requirements

• ARRT and BLS certifications are required
• Certified Cardiac Interventional Radiology Technologist (ARRT CI) and Certified Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist (ARRT VI) verification required
• Minimum one year of relevant Cath Lab or Radiologic Technologist experience
• Sterile technique knowledge required
• Experience with Siemens cath lab equipment preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Prior cath lab or interventional radiology experience required; first-time travelers may be considered with excellent experience
• License required if applicable
• No previous license disciplinary actions
