Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position with required travel experience, night shifts, and advanced PALS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
Responsibilities
- Position is in a hospital Pediatrics unit
- Night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
- Unit has 14 patient beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Patient population includes cardiac observation and post-surgical observation cases
- MS/Tele and remote monitoring required, with starting IVs as a core skill
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Scrub color is charcoal grey
- Primary responsibilities include care for pediatric patients requiring cardiac and post-surgical observation
- No local travelers accepted from specified counties
- No travel pairs or groups permitted
- Previous permanent staff must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric RN experience
- Prior travel nurse experience is required
- Certifications required: PALS, BLS, NIHSS
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in MS/Tele, starting IVs, remote monitoring required
- Preferred skills include cardiac telemetry, ER holding, interpretation of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank management
- Candidates residing within 50 miles or in specified counties are not eligible
