Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics Unit, requiring a TN or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Orthopedics Unit of a Med/Surg hospital setting
• Unit serves post-op surgical spine patients and Med/Surg overflow, ages 14 to 60+
• Unit capacity is 34 beds with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Variable staffing model includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns
• Night shifts from 18:30 to 08:00
• 13-week assignment duration
• May be required to float to different units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, census, and acuity
• Travelers are notified in advance if floating is required
• An RN assumes full responsibility for assigned patients as part of a team approach
• Staffing includes support from LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, and Nurse Interns
• Extension opportunities should be discussed with management 45 days before assignment end
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
• Local candidates are accepted but the pay rate may be reduced according to the facility's radius rule
• Auto-offer process is utilized for all positions

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Nursys license verification and proof of current license required within 30 days prior to start
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test is required
• All candidates must have a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address
