Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and flexibility in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a general medicine Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting
• High acuity, fast-paced unit with 5:1 patient ratios
• 12-hour night shifts (3x12 hrs), 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Expected to float to other units as needed
• Must complete orientation modules, with specific hours allocated for modules and Epic EMR training
• Travelers are required to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment, with additional requirements during winter holidays
• Time off requests must be submitted upfront; no Christmas time off will be approved
• Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted; special assignment terms apply for those within 50-99.9 miles or those within 50 miles at a lower rate and no extension eligibility
• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler, with stricter policies after July 1, 2025
• Epic EMR is used in this facility

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Significant recent PCU or related high-acuity experience required
• Two references required for consideration
• Copy of driver’s license and Social Security card required for compliance
