Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position caring for post-op surgical patients with floating requirements and Epic EMR use.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 30-bed Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4-5
• Serves post-op surgical patients including hip/knee replacements, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries
• Care includes management of PCA and Heparin drips
• Epic EMR is used
• Travelers are required to float across multiple campuses as needed
• Holiday coverage requires working 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year’s, Thanksgiving)
• Time off between 11/26/25–11/30/25 and 12/23/25–1/2/26 is limited to one day regardless of holidays worked
• Responsibilities include managing complex surgical recovery patients and administering related infusions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning employees must not have been employed within the past 12 months
• Work will require flexibility to float between campuses
• Holiday scheduling expectations apply as noted
• Standard hospital clinical attire or scrubs required

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license required
• Valid BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with post-op surgical patients strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Epic EMR preferred
• At least one supervisory reference from within the past 2 years required
