Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a comprehensive cancer center, requiring an OH or compact RN license and Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds and specialized oncology units
• Med/Surg Tele unit with patient ratios typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5
• Patient population includes BMT, acute leukemia, hematology, medical oncology, gynecological oncology, urology, colorectal, surgical oncology, and corrections healthcare
• Floating to various Med/Surg oncology units is required
• Night shifts (3x12 hours, 19:00 - 7:30) with D/N rotating schedule available
• Variable weekend requirements based on unit needs
• Epic EMR experience required
• Role involves a strong focus on infection prevention and patient fall protocols
• First week includes Mon-Fri dayshift orientation with bedside training in weeks 2 and 3
• Self-scheduling requests are accepted but final schedules are balanced by the unit
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• RTO (requested time off) must be submitted at time of consideration and built into contract
• Urgent fingerprinting process required for all candidates, with specific instructions for those outside Ohio

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg level or higher experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or charge RN
• Former employees eligible after 6 months; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible
