Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position with floating requirements at a hospital setting, requiring a NM or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00)
- Options available for 36 or 48 hour work weeks
- Must float to similar units within scope as needed
- Caring for stroke and post-surgery patients
- 24/7 central telemetry monitoring tech provided; RN not required to interpret dysrhythmias
- Weekends required as needed
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Participation in brief unit orientation is provided
- Required to wear professional scrubs in any color without logos
- No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
- Maximum of 3 days requested time off approved automatically; no time off allowed during first week of orientation
Requirements
- Active NM or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
- Former permanent staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year prior to travel assignment
