Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN with an active IL license and recent cardiac med/surg and trauma experience for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital cardiac med/surg unit providing care to adult patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:30am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Unit serves patients with cardiac medical and surgical needs
• Uses Epic EMR and previous Epic experience is required
• Unit supports interdisciplinary care with collaboration among healthcare professionals
• Contribute to patient care planning, assessment, intervention, and evaluation as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Perform bedside laboratory testing and quality control per provider orders and hospital policy
• Promote evidence-based practice and professional development
• RTO (requested time off) is limited to 7 days per 13 week contract
• Returning travelers may not exceed one year of continuous assignment and must take a six-month break before returning
• No travel partners permitted

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license, including temporary licenses
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience in a hospital setting
• Experience with Level 1 trauma is required
• Epic charting experience is required
• Associate's degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals allowed)
