Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a mobile PET position, requiring at least 1 year of independent experience and BLS plus ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Mobile PET assignment with frequent travel between facilities
• Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, AM shift
• Nuclear medicine procedures performed include PET, theranostic, planar, SPECT, and SPECT/CT
• Care for ambulatory and hospital patients across various age groups
• Travel to a secondary facility required one day per week (Wednesdays)
• Work under the general supervision of a Radiologist
• Perform quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures according to protocol
• Maintain and perform quality control on imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer, RAM, and ACR requirements
• Safeguard patients and staff by adhering to all radiation safety standards and protocols
• Educate and communicate with patients and their families regarding tests and radiation safety
• Collaborate with medical staff, radiologists, and support teams for optimal patient care
• Follow all infection-control and aseptic techniques as required
• Submit patient images to PACS for medical review by physicians
• Any color scrubs are permitted except denim or inappropriate prints
• Must be able to serve as a trainer for new team members and students as needed
• Returning former perm employees will require eligibility verification

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year nuclear medicine experience with ability to work independently
• Current BLS (AHA only) certification required
• ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required
• Active Texas license as required by the profession (license required if applicable)
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions during flu season (August – November)
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; no local travelers accepted
