Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a mobile PET position, requiring at least 1 year of independent experience and BLS plus ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification.
Responsibilities
- Mobile PET assignment with frequent travel between facilities
- Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, AM shift
- Nuclear medicine procedures performed include PET, theranostic, planar, SPECT, and SPECT/CT
- Care for ambulatory and hospital patients across various age groups
- Travel to a secondary facility required one day per week (Wednesdays)
- Work under the general supervision of a Radiologist
- Perform quality nuclear medicine, PET, and theranostic procedures according to protocol
- Maintain and perform quality control on imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer, RAM, and ACR requirements
- Safeguard patients and staff by adhering to all radiation safety standards and protocols
- Educate and communicate with patients and their families regarding tests and radiation safety
- Collaborate with medical staff, radiologists, and support teams for optimal patient care
- Follow all infection-control and aseptic techniques as required
- Submit patient images to PACS for medical review by physicians
- Any color scrubs are permitted except denim or inappropriate prints
- Must be able to serve as a trainer for new team members and students as needed
- Returning former perm employees will require eligibility verification
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year nuclear medicine experience with ability to work independently
- Current BLS (AHA only) certification required
- ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification required
- Active Texas license as required by the profession (license required if applicable)
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Flu vaccination required with no exemptions during flu season (August – November)
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility; no local travelers accepted
