Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a highly experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position, requiring recent travel and high-risk L&D proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 7:30
• Care for antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients, including high-risk deliveries
• Perform scrubbing, circulating, and recovery duties
• Handle triage cases and manage isolation precautions and PPE
• Utilize Epic EMR system with prior experience required
• Maintain and monitor central lines (CVC-PICC) and manage insulin, heparin drips, and magnesium sulfate administration
• Perform sterile vaginal exams and monitor patients with intrauterine pressure catheters
• Required to work every other weekend
• Responsibilities include high-risk L&D nursing, managing a variety of maternal-fetal complications, and handling triage scenarios
• Position involves the use of advanced medication drips and monitoring specialized equipment
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 2 years before returning as travelers
• Candidates must complete required orientation modules and pass all pre-employment clinical testing
• A smoke-free work environment is maintained
• Proof of vaccination is required with no declinations allowed
• Locals within a 60-mile radius are considered

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 5 years recent Labor and Delivery experience
• Recent travel nurse experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications via AHA required
• NRP, PALS, AWHONN, and NIH certifications required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program, or degree approved by FBON with at least 2 years of acute care experience in the past 24 months at a US hospital
• Experience with high-risk deliveries and antepartum care required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to scrub, circulate, and recover in L&D
• Pass/fail EKG basic arrhythmia assessment required before start
