Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for evening shifts requiring current NY RN license and strong emergency care skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• 12-hour evening shifts from 3 PM to 3 AM, Monday through Sunday
• Weekend and holiday shifts are required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Works with a varied emergency patient population
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
• Must provide emergency nursing care to a diverse acuity patient population
• Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly on Mondays
• No block scheduling permitted for any reason
• Personal vehicle or reliable transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in the area
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• Facility has strict documentation requirements for work history and employment gaps
• All religious or medical exemption documentation for required vaccinations must be included at submission

Requirements

• Active NY RN license or proof of pending NY license is required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and current TNCC required; proof of active TNCC or class completion prior to start
• Epic EMR experience must be from within the last 2 years
• Prior travel and charge experience preferred
• NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to starting
