Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 2 years of acute hospital Cath Lab or IR experience, ACLS/BLS certifications, and proficiency with Epic.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cardiac cath lab with 3 suites performing primarily interventional radiology with cardiac inpatient add-ons
  • Typical cases include compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, PHTN, SOB, gastric ulcers, PE, and DVT
  • Average caseload is 4-5 cases per day
  • Siemens equipment and Apollo cardiac charting system are used
  • EMR is Epic; proficiency required
  • Day shift: 0700-1730, 4 days per week
  • On-call required: minimum 10 weeknights, 2 weekends (1 IR and 1 Cardiac), plus holidays as scheduled
  • Call response time is 30 minutes to the home campus
  • Must be willing to float for call coverage among three campuses as assigned
  • Supervisor is on shift and schedule approval is required
  • Duties include intra-procedural circulating, supplies management, medication administration, and sedation
  • Prepared for STEMIs, ability to treat up to IABP for stabilization
  • Versatile team with 3 Cath Lab Techs and supervisor support
  • One week of unit-specific orientation including buddy call for on-call procedures
  • Surgical greens required for dress code
  • Radiation badge provided
  • Up to 7 days RTO may be requested per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
  • Not open to those currently or recently employed (past year) at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
  • Must be able to float to all three campuses for on-call as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based Cath Lab or IR experience
  • Active RCIS, BLS, and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
  • Experience administering medication and sedation during interventional cases
  • Experience with Siemens equipment, Epic and Apollo cardiac charting systems required
  • Driver's license required for address verification; must live 50+ miles away from the facility
  • Candidates may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
  • Artificial nails are not permitted for patient care roles
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months, and one supervisor or peer from the last 3 years including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
  • License required if applicable
