Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of recent IR body and neuro experience in a Level 1 trauma center, with BLS and ARRT-R or RCIS required.

Responsibilities

• Academic medical center with Level 1 trauma designation and comprehensive stroke center
• Interventional Radiology department with 8 procedure rooms handling 45-50 cases per day
• Patient population includes cases involving stroke, cancer, tumors, traumatic injuries, complex embolization, thrombectomy, and neuro interventions
• Work alongside a team including neurosurgeons, neuroradiologist, interventional radiologists, advanced providers, and tech extenders
• Scheduling options include 3x12s or 4x10s (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM) or 5x8s (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
• Call required: 3-4 call days per month and weekend call every 5th or 6th weekend from Friday evening to Monday morning
• Must work holiday shifts if scheduled per 75% holiday coverage policy
• No floating required
• EMR utilized is Epic Encompass
• Imaging equipment includes Siemens, GE, Philips, and GE ultrasound units
• Hospital-provided scrubs
• Free parking available
• Responsibilities include assisting with stroke, cancer, trauma, complex embolization, thrombectomy, Y-90, sclerotherapy, biopsies, and access procedures
• Tech extenders support with room turnover, paperwork, transport, and inventory
• Team support includes 2 techs per room with an RN present
• Department has a mix of experienced and new grad staff; flexibility with training and preceptorship is important
• Up to 2 weeks of facility and unit orientation provided
• Manager approval required for time-off requests
• Schedule operated on a 4-6 week cycle

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology body and neuro experience in a Level 1 trauma center
• BLS certification required
• ARRT-R or RCIS required
• Must be experienced with scrubbing, assisting in procedures, and circulating to operate equipment and manage supplies
• Experience with Epic Encompass preferred
• License required if applicable
• First-time travelers accepted
