Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 2 years of experience for a primarily outpatient ortho position with some inpatient coverage.

Responsibilities

• Work setting includes mostly outpatient orthopedic cases with some neuro and occasional inpatient acute coverage
• Covers a caseload of around 8-12 patients per day, primarily post-op joints, pain, back, post falls, and some sports and neuro patients
• A warm water therapy pool is available in the department
• Schedule is four 10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday, 8 am to 6 pm
• 45-minute outpatient sessions with blocked time for inpatient evaluations and documentation
• Weekend on-call coverage is only occasionally required
• EPIC is used for electronic charting and documentation
• Department team includes three PTAs and operates with a collaborative structure
• First week includes department-specific orientation, with required in-state presence even if some modules are remote
• Dress code allows for scrubs or business casual attire
• No holiday coverage is required for this assignment
• A 60-mile radius rule applies; driver’s license will be used to determine eligibility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year

Requirements

• Active Physical Therapy license for the assignment state or compact licensure is required; pending licenses will not be accepted (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PT experience required
• BLS certification required; pending certifications not accepted
• Copy of driver’s license must be provided for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
