Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications on a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care hospital
• Serve at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5-6
• Patients include those requiring telemetry monitoring and chest pain center care
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00–07:00)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must be willing to float within scope to like units or sister campuses as needed
• Uses Epic as the charting system, Epic experience required
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Responsibilities include providing care to telemetry and chest pain center patients
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Floating may be required within the hospital and to sister campuses
• Candidates are not eligible if employed with this system in the last year
• Maximum of two contracts allowed before a six month break is required
• Return staff must be gone at least one year to be eligible as a traveler
• Pre-start online modules must be completed (4-10 hours)
• Time off requests are at the manager's discretion, max four days off, only one holiday approved

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from main campus
• Pending licenses are not accepted
