Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night position requiring critical care and open-heart recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Cardiovascular ICU within a hospital setting
• 8-bed unit with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3
• Patient population includes post-surgical management for cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, thoracotomies, TAVRs, and post-complex PCI interventions
• Care for patients following open-heart and post-cardiac procedures, as well as surgical, central line, arterial line, and chest tube placements
• Utilizes Edwards and GE monitoring systems and SWAN Ganz catheters
• Night shift from 18:45 to 07:15
• 13-week contract assignment
• Responsibilities include post-operative care of cardiothoracic, vascular, and cardiac patients with advanced monitoring
• Must provide two professional references and a copy of a valid Driver’s License for consideration
• Unit uses advanced monitoring and equipment for post-surgical management
• All positions have a radius rule for local candidates, with reduced pay rate for those within the defined distance to the facility
• Covid vaccination is not currently required
• First time travelers may be considered
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs

Requirements

• Active Indiana or Compact RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care or cardiac critical care experience
• Open-heart and post-cardiac procedure recovery experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Nursys verification and current license verification within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
