Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a hospital Operating & Recovery Room position requiring a KY or compact RN license and strong surgical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Operating & Recovery Room setting
• Engage in surgeries including general OR, endarterectomy with stents and patches, aneurysm and vessel procedures, ortho (totals, ORIF, arthroscopy), general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, GI endoscopy, some GYN and ENT procedures
• Assist with PACU by recovering patients during call-back situations
• 10-hour shifts from 07:00 to 17:30, with a rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next
• Call required: 1 shift per week and 1 weekend per month
• Duties include supporting a broad range of surgical specialties and helping to recover patients as needed during call-back situations
• Orientation is provided bi-weekly
• Scrub and dress code requirements are determined by the unit
• Holiday coverage may be required as per unit needs
• No local candidates will be considered due to a strict 100-mile radius rule
• Travel pairs are typically not allowed unless multiple openings exist on the unit

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the AHA
• PALS certification as required per unit or specialty
• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
• Prior PACU experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
