Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of outpatient experience and current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient clinic setting with a focus on orthopedic patients, including postoperative joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, mild neurological cases, and geriatric populations
• Patient caseload typically ranges from 10 to 12 per day for eight-hour shifts
• Shifts are Monday through Friday, either 8 or 10 hours per day, with possible start times as early as 7am and end times as late as 6pm for 10-hour shifts
• No weekends, on-call, or overtime required
• Every other holiday coverage may be needed
• Use of patient transfer equipment such as Sara Steady and Hoyer lifts
• Pewter grey scrubs required
• The position will not consider local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius
• Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions for orthopedic and neurological conditions
• Collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize functional outcomes
• Initial pass/fail EKG testing is required on the first day with study guides provided and two attempts allowed
• Education and training responsibilities may include involvement in community fitness and wellness programs
• Maintaining professional competency through ongoing education is expected

Requirements

• Active Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience required
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required; Doctorate preferred
• Certification in specialty areas such as OCS, SCS, NDT, Lymphedema, or Women’s Health is preferred
