Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an inpatient rehab assignment with BLS certification and at least one year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient rehab unit in a hospital setting
• Work schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Weekend shifts required on a rotating basis
• Preferred coverage for every other holiday
• No call or floating required
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5, with 7–8 visits per day
• Patients primarily include those with stroke, amputations, and post-surgical needs
• Specialized procedures include gait training, therapeutic exercise, balance, transfer training, family training, and discharge planning
• Utilizes Lite Gait body weight support and treadmill equipment
• Weekly team conferences for reporting patient plan of care and progress
• Cerner EMR system experience required
• Primary responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning for inpatient rehab patients
• Participation in weekly interdisciplinary team conferences required
• Pre-employment online training modules must be completed prior to start, with 3–8 hours expected
• Compliance with professional conduct standards is strictly enforced
• Return staff policy requires a 3-year break before returning as a traveler
• Maximum 10 days requested time off allowed; holiday RTO requests require willingness to work at least 1 of 3 holidays

Requirements

• Active or pending state PT license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent inpatient rehab PT experience
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers are accepted
