Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU night shift position requiring a CA RN license and at least one year of Neuro ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Neuro ICU within a hospital setting
• Primary patient population consists of neurological critical care cases
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2
• May be required to float to the Emergency Department, Step Down Unit, or Central Monitoring Department
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
• Every other weekend scheduling is required
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend
• Return staff policy requires a one-year break from previous employment
• Only one holiday request for time off will be approved
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of accepting an offer
• Orientation includes required e-learning modules, with hours varying by specialty
• Candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible as local candidates but at the local rate

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS; TNCC preferred
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in Neuro ICU
• Must have experience caring for neurological intensive care patients
• Epic charting system experience is required
• All certifications must be from the American Heart Association and in hand at time of consideration
