Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and proficiency with advanced critical care technology.

Responsibilities

• Work in a multidisciplinary ICU caring for neurological, neurosurgical, medical, surgical, pulmonary, cardiology, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients
• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Assignment length is 8 weeks
• Uses advanced ICU equipment including ventilators, ventricular drains, cardiac monitors, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, IABP, ECMO/tandem heart, Impella, BIS monitors, continuous pulse oximetry, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), gastric tubes, and infusion pumps
• Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
• Responsible for providing comprehensive care to a diverse population of critically ill patients using various advanced technologies
• Two professional references from supervisors or managers within the last 12 months preferred
• Team delivers care according to licensure, certification, and regulatory standards
• Must be able to perform physically demanding patient care tasks in a high acuity environment

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 3 years ICU experience required
• Current certifications in NIHSS, BLS, and ACLS (AHA only)
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• CPI certification mandated by position
• BSN highly desired
• Must have at least 2 years' hospital experience in the US in assigned specialty area
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals considered except GWUH at 25 miles)
• US Social Security Number required
