Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an IR PACU position requiring pediatric and phase 1 recovery experience, as well as a KY or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Interventional Radiology (IR) PACU within a hospital setting
• Care for both adult and pediatric patients in the post-anesthesia recovery phase
• Shift schedule consists of three 12-hour day shifts per week with variable start times (6:00, 7:00, or 8:00 a.m.)
• Required to stay late 3-4 times every 6 weeks per unit needs
• On-call required: weekday call is 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.; weekend call is divided into two shifts (6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Must be able to respond onsite within 1 hour while on call
• Perform recovery of IR PACU patients, including following patients to main PACU as needed during patient transfer
• Work as part of a team specialized in interventional radiology and post-anesthesia care
• Complete modules during orientation and annually as required for the specialty
• Weekly call and late stay assignments are shared among team members
• Holiday coverage will be assigned as per department needs
• First time travelers are considered if all experience and license requirements are met
• Candidates who have worked at this facility must disclose prior employment to determine eligibility for rehire
• Must not reside within 75 miles of the facility to be eligible
• Previous employees may return as travelers if 90 days have passed since last assignment

Requirements

• Active KY or multistate compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience, with at least 1 year of recent ICU experience required
• Experience with phase 1 recovery and pediatric patient care required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and willing to obtain PALS prior to start if not already held
• No history of disciplinary action or 'license hits' is allowed
• At least 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
