Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool position requiring PICU and NICU background and multiple certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in the Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool and floats to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, pediatric medsurg, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby
  • Care is provided for a diverse pediatric and neonatal patient population
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • Every other weekend and a minimum of 2 out of 3 winter holidays required
  • 13-week contract assignment
  • Epic EMR used and Epic experience is required
  • Block scheduling is not guaranteed
  • Provide nursing care in multiple pediatric and neonatal units based on staffing needs
  • Must adhere to hospital floating policies and may be asked to float within scope across pediatric-focused units
  • Time off requests up to 40 hours are allowed per 13-week contract and must be submitted prior to acceptance
  • Must work 2 out of the 3 major winter holidays
  • BSN preferred but not required
  • Modules completed during orientation, up to 16 hours non-billable
  • Return-to-work policy requires at least 12 months separation for those previously employed by the health system

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required (will accept pending license with conditions)
  • BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Dr Browns Infant Driven Feeding certification required (may be pending at submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Experience in PICU and NICU required with comfort floating to various pediatric units
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Nursys verification required for compliance
  • Copy of required certifications needed
