Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring an active IL RN license and proficiency in EKG interpretation with drip titration.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care Interventional Radiology (IR) department
- Covers pre-op, intraprocedural, and phase 2 recovery areas across 6 labs
- Average caseload of 20-30 procedures per day including GI bleeds, strokes, biopsies, central lines, drains, and vascular interventions
- Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1 during procedures, maximum 1:4 in phase 2 recovery
- Uses EPIC for charting and Phillips monitors for patient monitoring
- Schedule consists of 4 nine-hour day shifts per week between 6:30 AM and 6:00 PM
- Primary and secondary call required for 6-8 shifts in 6 weeks, including some weekends and holidays
- 30-minute call response time required
- No floating to other units
- Surgical scrubs provided
- Key duties include monitoring patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure, interpreting EKGs, and titrating medication drips
- Charge RN available from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and does not carry patient assignments
- Department is closed on holidays but holiday call is required
- Surgical scrubs are provided and must be worn while on duty
- Orientation includes 12 hours general and 5 hours department-specific training
- Local rate applies if permanent address is within 50 miles
- COVID vaccination is not required
- No radius restriction for candidate eligibility
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS all active at the time of consideration
- Experience with EKG interpretation and drip titration required
- Experience in emergency, ICU, or procedural settings preferred
- EPIC charting system experience preferred
