Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a DC RN license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and at least two years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
• Night shift working three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patients require cardiac monitoring and acute care interventions
• Uses Cerner electronic medical records system
• Contracts are 8 or 9 weeks in length depending on assignment
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not accepted
• Provide comprehensive nursing care including initial and ongoing patient assessments, care planning, and documentation
• Responsible for admission assessment within the established timeframe according to policy
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care
• Must obtain two manager or supervisor references verifying recent experience
• All certifications must be current and AHA approved
• COVID and flu immunization documentation required
• No pending licenses will be accepted

Requirements

• Active RN license in the District of Columbia required at time of consideration
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• CPI certification is mandated for this position
• Two years recent Med/Surg Telemetry inpatient experience in a U.S. hospital required
• At least one year of Med/Surg Tele acute care experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
• BSN is highly desired
• Must pass a telemetry rhythm interpretation test prior to start
• US Social Security Number required
