Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery (L&D) position in an acute care, Level 3 trauma setting requiring a MN RN license and recent OB/L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital OB/L&D unit with care for labor, postpartum, nursery, pediatrics, SCN, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients
• Acute care environment with Level 3 trauma designation
• Typical patient census includes 5 mom/baby couplets, 2 pediatrics, 1 GYN, 2 labor, and 4 SCN
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, 1:5 for GYN/Med-Surg, 1:3-4 for pediatrics
• Uses Epic (One Chart) EMR, Acudose, Philips Vitals Machines, Medula Breast Pumps, Responder 5 Call light system, and Medfusion Pumps
• Twelve-hour night shifts with every third weekend and rotating holidays
• Willingness to float to Telemetry and Med-Surg units required
• Support staff include a ward clerk (daytime hours), CNA (Tues–Thurs), Charge Nurse/Circulator, Resource Nurse, and LPN Scrub Nurse
• Care for postpartum, stable antepartum, pediatric, newborn, GYN, and Med-Surg overflow patients and may act as second RN in the SCN
• First-day unit and equipment orientation provided
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Returning former employees must have separated from any Sanford Health location at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Candidates living within 80 miles may be considered at a local pay rate
• Must be able to assist in filling schedule vacancies as needed
• Holiday and weekend shift rotation is required

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D experience, including postpartum and pediatrics
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NRP certifications required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Ability to work in Labor, Postpartum, Nursery, and Pediatric settings
