Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity adult ICU position requiring a compact or MD RN license and ICU experience.

Responsibilities

Position is in a high-acuity adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 16-24 beds
Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2, with occasional 1:1 or 1:3 based on patient acuity and staffing needs
Night shift schedule, working 19:00-07:30, with three 12-hour shifts per week
Weekend rotations required no more often than every other weekend, possibly every third weekend based on staffing, and rotating holiday coverage
Care involves use of advanced medical equipment including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) equipment
Precepting duties may be required
Provide direct care for critically ill adult patients in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
Manage ventilator settings, administer medications, and perform or assist with invasive procedures as needed
Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient documentation, and adhere strictly to infection control protocols
Supportive team environment with strong interdepartmental relationships
Scrub color requirement is navy blue
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification is optional but recommended
COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this assignment
Local candidates are accepted but subject to a reduced rate based on facility radius rules
All positions are auto offer

Requirements

Current MD or compact RN license
At least 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
CRRT experience required
Nursys license verification and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
US Social Security Number and home address are required for employment
Submission of required documentation including copy of Driver’s License and two professional references
