Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a VA or compact license, BLS, and NRP certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital Labor & Delivery unit
• Responsibilities include L&D, postpartum, and familiarity with LDRP
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Required to work every third weekend
• Travelers may be required to float between related facilities including Haymarket and Prince William Medical Centers
• Uses Epic EMR with a test-out option available
• Responsibilities include caring for laboring and postpartum patients in an LDRP environment
• Team supports floating within scope across designated hospital facilities as needed
• Two professional references required for consideration
• No mile radius rule applies for eligibility
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Returning staff must have a 12-month gap before reapplying as a traveler unless reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Time off requests should be minimal in the first week and not exceed 10 days per 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Experience with postpartum care and L&D required
• Familiarity with LDRP setting preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
• Must provide a copy of valid ID and Social Security number for consideration
