Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Ohio with night shifts and telemetry monitoring requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Patient ratio is approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients
• Provides care for PCU patient population with IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Uses the Epic EMR system for documentation
• Night shifts (three 12-hour shifts per week) with some weekends and rotating holidays required
• Must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Provide advanced nursing care to patients requiring telemetry and IV starts in the PCU
• Dynamic and challenging work environment with interdisciplinary team support
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Dress code and scrub details will be specified by the facility
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Locals are accepted for this position
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or formal leadership role
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
• Former employees must have a break of at least 6 months before being eligible for a travel assignment
