Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI certification and at least one year of specialty experience for a weekday position.

Responsibilities

• Work in an echocardiography department serving both adult and pediatric populations
• Procedures include comprehensive echocardiographic studies, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms
• Outreach service experience is beneficial
• 40 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday with no call and no weekends
• Uses Epic EMR for charting and reporting
• Independently perform comprehensive echocardiograms using all imaging modalities as clinically indicated
• Collaborate with team members and physicians to assist in interpreting echocardiographic findings
• Assist with orientation, training, and education of trainees and students assigned to Cardiovascular Services
• Must demonstrate flexibility in learning various equipment, imaging specialties, and procedures related to echocardiography
• COVID vaccination and booster are required
• Scrubs or professional attire as per department policy
• Assignments are limited to one calendar year; a 30 to 60 day break is required before being eligible for a new assignment
• License required if applicable

Requirements

• Active ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) certification is required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross is required
• Associates degree or graduation from a CAAHEP accredited sonography program is required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography, including transesophageal and stress echo procedures
• Experience working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare professionals is required
• Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic, and patient care procedures is required
• Ability to work with a wide range of patient ages, from neonate to geriatric
• Must be proficient in verbal and written communication, and able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
