Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in a long-term acute care hospital setting, requiring recent MS/Tele experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ICU unit within a long-term acute care hospital (LTACH)
• Care for patients with high acuity, including intubated, trached, and ventilated cases as well as post-open heart, cystic fibrosis, vent weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and sepsis cases
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 - 19:30)
• Self-scheduling is available
• Float to other areas within the hospital may be required
• Every third weekend is required, totaling 8 weekend shifts per contract
• Uses EPIC EMR; EPIC experience preferred
• Local candidates living within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Provide comprehensive care to high-acuity patients requiring long-term acute management
• Team may include ICU nurses and multidisciplinary clinical staff
• Orientation includes mandatory modules completed during onboarding
• Modules are non-billable and factored into orientation hours
• No-cost parking is available onsite
• Flu and COVID-19 vaccination may be required
• Holiday coverage may be required in accordance with unit policy
• Return travelers accepted only if there has been a one-year gap since previous employment

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license (pending license accepted for consideration, but must be in hand before starting)
• Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele experience within the last year
• At least 2 years of total nursing experience required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• BSN preferred
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Former staff must not have worked at the facility within the past year
