Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position on a postoperative surgical unit, requiring an NC or compact RN license and inpatient surgical experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on the 2nd floor postoperative surgical unit in a hospital setting
• Night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Patient population includes adult postoperative surgical patients
• Inpatient surgical experience preferred
• May be expected to act as charge nurse if needed
• Option to negotiate 48-hour contracts is available
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to plan and coordinate care
• Expected to participate in unit goals, professional development, and performance improvement activities
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required by patient care plan
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment for all
• Document due dates for background check and drug screening are firm and required for consideration
• First-time travelers will be considered

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state required
• Minimum of one year nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school required
• Inpatient surgical care experience preferred
