Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a CT or compact RN license and three years of cardiac ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU) at a short term acute care Level I Trauma Center
• High acuity cardiac patient population with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Swan-Ganz monitoring proficiency required
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:00), every other weekend required
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• Provide expert critical care to high-acuity cardiac patients in a team setting
• Four hours of pre-start online modules must be completed before starting
• Return staff must have a minimum two-year gap since last employment at the facility
• Requests for time off exceeding seven days require approval
• Monthly parking fee applies
• Holiday coverage may be required

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license, or eligibility and willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma center experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with swan-ganz monitoring required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required unless approved for religious or medical exemption
• First-time travelers accepted if possessing cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility
