Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for a high-acuity, large hospital ER in Georgia, requiring 2 years of ER experience and a current GA or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a large, busy hospital Emergency Department with a 59-bed capacity
• Cares for adolescent through geriatric patient population
• Patient ratio is 1:4 with an average census of 165-175 patients per day
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with every other weekend required
• Rare floating within department
• Department is Stroke and STEMI certified, but not a designated trauma center
• Uses Epic for charting (Epic experience required) and Pyxis for medication management
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must provide high-quality care to patients with high acuity in a fast-paced ER setting
• Holiday coverage is required based on major holidays falling within assignment; no holiday RTO can be requested except as specified for three-holiday assignments
• A maximum of 7 days of time off (RTO) is allowed; no RTO during the first week of assignment
• Travel pairs are not permitted on the same shift within the same unit
• Full compliance with pre-employment and onboarding requirements is necessary prior to start
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Modules are required and completed during orientation

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Perm staff must have been separated from all Piedmont facilities for at least one year prior to consideration
• Two supervisory references are highly preferred for consideration
