Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring recent CVICU experience and proficiency with Epic and NextStage CVVH.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) within a hospital environment
- Assignment consists of 12-hour evening/night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Must work every other weekend and some holidays
- Care is provided for cardiac and thoracic surgery, heart/lung transplant, and device patients
- Involves acuity adaptable unit responsibilities with advanced cardiac care
- Floating required; travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization
- Provide specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries, transplants, and those requiring advanced support devices
- Participate in team-based care focused on patient and family needs with high technological standards
- Telemetry test must be passed (with strict criteria); up to two attempts are allowed before contract cancellation is considered
- First-time travelers may be accepted based on unit-specific policies
- Mandatory orientation is provided and typically lasts about one week
- Scrubs or dress code details will be outlined in the welcome letter
- Holiday shifts may be required and are determined by unit policy
- RTO requests are reviewed by the manager and generally limited to two weeks per contract
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
- Minimum of two years recent acute care CVICU experience within the last three years
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Basic arrhythmia experience with ability to pass a telemetry test before starting
- Proficient in Epic EMR, with experience preferred within the past 12 months
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
