Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position in an acute care setting requiring a compact or WV RN license and prior Cath Lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab with two procedure suites
• Care for patients undergoing diagnostic heart catheterizations, PCI, IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers, TCAR, EVAR, EKOS, AIF, IVC filter, Infusaports, Permacaths, and vascular surgery procedures
• Average caseload is 5–10 cases per day
• Siemens equipment and Epic charting system are used in the unit
• Schedule consists of four 10-hour day shifts per week, including some late days
• On-call required: 7 days per 4-week schedule, with 30-minute response time
• Unit is closed for major holidays and weekends
• No floating required unless seeking extra hours in other units with relevant experience
• Responsibilities include circulating, sedation, and documentation in the Cath Lab
• Must provide a 30-minute call response time during on-call periods
• General hospital and department-specific orientation is provided, including up to 36 hours on the unit
• Surgical scrubs provided; lead protection is not provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees of the health system must have a 2-year break before returning as travelers
• Travel assignments cannot exceed one cumulative year within the health system without a 2-year break
• Local travelers are not accepted; minimum distance requirements apply

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of one year Cath Lab or Rad Tech experience required
• Must be able to function in the scrub role
• Experience with sterile technique necessary
• Familiarity with Epic EMR and Siemens equipment preferred
