Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring proficiency in multiple surgical specialties and Iowa or compact state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Operating Room department
• Cases include Gyn, Podiatry, General/Breast, Ortho, Urology, Plastics, and Neuro surgeries
• DaVinci robotics proficiency required for some cases
• EPIC EMR is used; experience preferred but training available
• On-call required one shift per week and every 4th to 5th weekend
• Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the past two years
• Not open to first-time travelers
• Required to work two out of three major winter holidays: Christmas, New Year’s, or Thanksgiving
• Only one day of requested time off allowed during peak holiday periods
• Scrub attire is provided per department policy

Requirements

• Active Iowa or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA
• Minimum two years of OR experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 18 months
• Proficiency in DaVinci robotics procedures required
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred
• Scrub experience is a plus
