Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery OB Triage position at a Level IV Maternal unit with high-volume perinatal experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the OB Triage unit in a high-acuity, Level IV Maternal facility
- Facility includes 20 LDR suites, 4 C-section suites, 10 triage rooms, 51 Mother-Baby rooms, and 14 monitored Ante-partum beds
- Handles over 500 deliveries per month with 24-hour in-house OB, anesthesia, and NICU coverage
- Academic teaching environment with large private OB practices and a perinatal transport program
- Shift is 18:45–07:15
- Main responsibilities include triaging and caring for laboring patients in a high-volume setting
- Team includes in-house attending OB, anesthesia, NICU, and academic as well as private practice support
- The unit is expanding with a new Women’s Tower expected in early 2026
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Program and advanced fetal monitoring certifications are preferred
- Local candidates may be accepted at a reduced rate due to the facility radius rule
- Covid vaccination is not required for this position
- Travelers should plan to discuss possible contract extension at least 45 days before assignment end date
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license
- Minimum 3 years of recent labor and delivery or perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery setting
- Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NRP (AAP) certifications
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Nursys verification and license documentation required within 30 days before start
- Must provide Social Security Number and a US home address
