Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in New York with de-escalation training and Epic charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 16-bed adult Intensive Care Unit with overflow to a 6-bed area as needed
• Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with life-threatening conditions
• Invasive pressure, continuous cardiac, and oximetry monitoring used in all critical care beds
• Private rooms for all ICU patients
• Every other weekend and every other holiday are required
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Floating to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry required, with a maximum of 4 patients when floating
• Epic EMR experience required, Cerner experience strongly preferred
• No on-call requirements
• Provide complex and intensive nursing care interventions for critically ill adults
• Case manager available 7 days a week to support patients and families
• Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
• Candidates with prior travel experience are preferred
• First time travelers may be considered
• Unit provides a private conference room for family meetings

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 4 years of total nursing experience and at least 2.5 years in critical care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• De-escalation training through Welle, CPI, or PMCS required
• Experience with Epic EMR is required and Cerner experience is preferred
• Flu vaccination required unless medical or religious documentation is provided
• Candidates cannot have been employed as staff at this facility within the last year or within the AMC network in the past six months
