Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license and advanced certifications to provide high-acuity care on night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 200-bed acute care hospital ICU
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, typically 19:00-07:30
- Patient ratio is 1:2 in the ICU
- Required to work every other weekend
- Travelers will float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
- Use Epic EMR system; Epic experience required
- On-call required as per unit needs
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Travelers are expected to float between like units and to sister facilities
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
- Scrub color for RNs is solid royal blue
- Free parking is available on site
- Return policy requires a 3-month gap for former permanent staff before returning as a traveler
- Requested time off must be included at time of application and is subject to approval
- Pre-start and annual online modules are required and self-reported for completion
- Candidates are responsible for reviewing local housing options due to possible limited availability
Requirements
- Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
- At least two supervisory references from the past three years in a comparable setting required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Locals within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a lower rate
- Pending licenses are not accepted
