Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a current CA license and advanced certifications to provide high-acuity care on night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 200-bed acute care hospital ICU
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours, typically 19:00-07:30
• Patient ratio is 1:2 in the ICU
• Required to work every other weekend
• Travelers will float within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Use Epic EMR system; Epic experience required
• On-call required as per unit needs
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Travelers are expected to float between like units and to sister facilities
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Scrub color for RNs is solid royal blue
• Free parking is available on site
• Return policy requires a 3-month gap for former permanent staff before returning as a traveler
• Requested time off must be included at time of application and is subject to approval
• Pre-start and annual online modules are required and self-reported for completion
• Candidates are responsible for reviewing local housing options due to possible limited availability

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent ICU nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
• At least two supervisory references from the past three years in a comparable setting required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Locals within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a lower rate
• Pending licenses are not accepted
