Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring a CO or compact license and intermediate fetal monitoring certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-bed LDRP unit within an acute care, level III trauma hospital
• Cares for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and couplet patients, with patient ratios of 1:1 for labor and 1:2-3 for couplets
• Unit includes 1 dedicated C-section operating room
• Must have experience and be comfortable with triage and both circulating and recovering C-sections
• Schedule is comprised of 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, with 6-9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• No floating required
• Rare call or standby may occur for low census
• Uses Epic as the EMR system
• Hospital-provided blue scrubs are required for this position
• Initial orientation includes 1-3 shifts with a preceptor
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to assignment start
• Unit may occasionally care for overflow mastectomy patients, with a brief orientation provided
• Travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill gaps as scheduling needs arise
• Hospital is within a 60-mile radius rule; applicants must reside beyond this distance
• Orientation includes both classroom modules and unit-based preceptorship
• Returning candidates may not have been employed by affiliated facilities in the past year
• Epic charting training included during orientation
• First time travelers and those with prior travel experience are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active CO or compact (NLC) RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, including at least 1 year of LDRP experience in the past 3 years
• Certifications required: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (or Advanced OR C-EFM), BLS (AHA), and NRP
• Must have triage experience and experience titrating Pitocin and magnesium drips
• Must be comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and couplets
• Experience circulating and recovering C-sections required
• Must provide a copy of driver’s license
• Must submit two recent references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and either a peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years
