Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting in California, requiring a CA RN license and recent charge nurse experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Day shifts with 12-hour scheduling and every other weekend required
- First to float as needed within the facility
- Charge nurse responsibilities required during shifts
- Patient population consists of telemetry monitoring cases
- Uses Cerner EMR system
- Assignment duration is 13 weeks
- Blend of charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities, including rounding on patients, addressing service or safety issues, and providing staff support
- Three weeks of comprehensive orientation, including one week classroom and two weeks on unit
- Must be comfortable with on-shift leadership and supporting a positive work environment
- Mandatory participation in facility-specific skills assessment and orientation modules
- Scrub color requirements will be communicated prior to start
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at the time of application
- Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience required
- Must have served as a charge RN in the most recent assignment
- Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS (AHA or APEX) certifications required
- No first-time travelers will be considered
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three years
- Copy of driver's license required
- Must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
