Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an acute care setting in California, requiring a CA RN license and recent charge nurse experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Day shifts with 12-hour scheduling and every other weekend required
• First to float as needed within the facility
• Charge nurse responsibilities required during shifts
• Patient population consists of telemetry monitoring cases
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Assignment duration is 13 weeks
• Blend of charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities, including rounding on patients, addressing service or safety issues, and providing staff support
• Three weeks of comprehensive orientation, including one week classroom and two weeks on unit
• Must be comfortable with on-shift leadership and supporting a positive work environment
• Mandatory participation in facility-specific skills assessment and orientation modules
• Scrub color requirements will be communicated prior to start

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at the time of application
• Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience required
• Must have served as a charge RN in the most recent assignment
• Current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS (AHA or APEX) certifications required
• No first-time travelers will be considered
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three years
• Copy of driver's license required
• Must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year
