Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit night shift position requiring a current IA or compact license and strong PICU background.

Responsibilities

Work in a 12-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with all private rooms
Care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens
Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
Every other weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled
No call requirement
May float to NICU for stable 'feeders and growers' infants
EMR system used is Epic
Work as part of an interdisciplinary pediatric critical care team
Holiday coverage requires working 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving) if assigned
Limit of one day off may be requested during holiday blackout periods (11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2)
Locals within 50 miles are accepted, subject to local traveler policy
Modern patient and family-centered environment with family consultation and lounge spaces
Travelers may not have been employed by the client within the previous 12 months

Requirements

Active IA or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required
Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications required
Epic EMR experience required
Critical care experience strongly encouraged
Must be willing to float to NICU as needed
