Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 3 Emergency Department position in Minnesota, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 12-bed Emergency Department within an acute care setting
• Level 3 Trauma Center with Acute Stroke Ready certification
• Typical ED patient population and diagnoses
• Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4, rarely 1:5
• Requires tele skills and basic cardiology knowledge for reading strips
• Drip medications and ventilator management occasionally needed, with RT support
• Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy support available 24/7
• Uses Paragon and Touchworks EMR systems
• Day and night rotating 12-hour shifts with every 3rd weekend required
• No floating to other units required
• Floor-specific orientation provided
• Must be able to work both day and night shifts on a rotating schedule
• Every 3rd weekend coverage required
• Potential holiday coverage as scheduled
• RN will be supported by nurse aides and will not serve in a charge nurse role
• Scrub color is not specified
• Acute clinical orientation provided on unit start

Requirements

• Active MN RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Basic cardiology and tele skills necessary
• Experience with drip medication administration and ventilator management preferred
• Ability to use Paragon and Touchworks EMR systems is preferred
