Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position on night shifts requiring an IL RN license and 3 years of recent L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Care for both neonate and adult patients in an OBGYN/L&D environment
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6:00pm to 6:30am
• Weekend coverage required every third weekend
• Use of Pyxis for medication management
• Use of Meditech for documentation
• Responsibilities include triaging obstetrical patients, fetal monitoring, assisting with deliveries, and providing post-surgical care for C-sections
• Candidate will recover C-section patients and must recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Scrubs are provided for all shifts
• The unit may consider first time travelers based on relevant experience
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in Labor and Delivery
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Proficiency with NST, OCT, sterile vaginal exams, obstetric triage, fetal monitoring (EFM, internal/external), and IUPC placement and calibration
• Experience with C-section circulation and recovery, blood administration, IV starts and maintenance, infusion pumps, and epidural anesthesia
